About Us

Our History

Woodwool Specialists was started in 2002 by Dianne Pooley and her son James in humble premises in Islington, Christchurch. Over the following 15 years the family-owned business went from strength to strength, growing to be the major supplier of wood wool to the live crayfish trade in New Zealand. In 2016 Woodwool Specialists were purchased by The Fiordland Lobster Company. We now operate from custom built premises in the Rolleston Industrial Park, 20 minutes south of Christchurch, Canterbury producing the same high-quality product pioneered by Dianne and James over 20 years ago.

Who We Work With

Woodwool Specialists are proud to be a major supplier of sustainable, environmentally friendly wood wool packaging to a wide range of businesses including artisanal food and wine producers, florists and export companies just to name a few!
